About

Hello, I’m Nina!

Nina Lee is my independent pattern label celebrating the mighty power of making! I’m based in London and create sewing patterns inspired by the incredible heritage and diversity of this brilliant place. Our patterns are named after places in the city, from fashion-forward Carnaby Street to the historic treasure trove that is Bloomsbury, and on our printed pattern envelopes you’ll find original illustrations capturing the atmosphere of each neighbourhood.

We aim to be part of the movement away from disposable, ‘fast’ fashion, towards a more sustainable and rewarding form of dressing – but one that never forgets to be fun. Our designs are intended to fit into your me-made wardrobe year-round, and to work as canvases for your own creativity.

All of our patterns come in UK sizes 6–20, with in-depth, fully illustrated instructions to guide you through. They are drafted for an average height of 5’5″ and a B cup.

Before I started Nina Lee I’d been sewing for myself since my teens. You can follow my personal sewing adventures here.

A few days’ late but this was my Valentine’s o A few days’ late but this was my Valentine’s outfit - something I’d been dreaming of since the release of Bakerloo! Yes indeed - it’s a barely recognisable hacked #bakerloodress, made from silk organza without the collar but with an added skirt frill. Underneath I’m wearing a shortened and tightened satin #sadieslipdress. Is this one of the most grandly impractical outfits I’ve ever made? Probably! But what’s the point of sewing if we can’t go mad with it sometimes?!

Let me know if you’d like a blog post on creating this hack as it’s super simple!
