A summer dress pattern with all the drama – big puffy sleeves, a three-tiered skirt and of course, a fabulous bow to fasten the back! With no other fastenings, Mariposa is easy to sew and fit – simply pull on the elastic in the sleeve heads, sleeve hems and back waist to achieve the perfect fit for you.
Skill level: intermediate
SUITABLE FABRICS
Light to medium-weight fabrics such as cotton lawn, poplin, lightweight linen, viscose-linen blends, rayon, double gauze.
NOTIONS
2 m of elastic, about 10mm / 1/2 inch wide
3.5 m of double-fold bias binding, around 12 mm / 1/2 inch wide (not more than 25 mm /1 inch wide)

I love how easy it is to alter the fit on this, and it makes the dress so easy to wear ... Combined with the length and drama of the silhouette it could easily be worn for a formal event. I loved playing with the ties! They're long enough to give you lots of options which is super fun 🙂
